Fender Jazz Bass 1977 - S7 Serial / Rosewood Fingerboard
This is a 1977 Fender Jazz Bass with an S7 serial number and matching 1977 pot codes.
It features an ash body with a rosewood fingerboard — a less common and more sought-after spec compared to the typical maple neck version. The neck is stamped "J. TORRES," a well-known builder from the era.
Weight is approximately 4.3kg.
There's visible wear from use throughout. On the back of the body, there's a patch where the finish has melted (please refer to the photos), and the back of the headstock shows peeling lacquer. The peeling is currently stable and hasn't been spreading, but please be aware of it.
The neck is adjusted straight. The frets show some wear, and lowering the action further may result in mild buzzing.
Current string height at the 12th fret is about 2mm on the 1st string and 3mm on the 4th string.
To preserve the instrument's vintage value, fret dressing has not been done. It plays fine as-is, but leveling may be recommended if you prefer a lower setup.
Electronics are fully functional and have been cleaned.
Note: the control knobs rotate continuously without a stop point, but the pots work properly.
Sold as-is considering its condition and age. Comes with a genuine Fender hard case.
