1978 Greco SE600 Sparkle Sound - Vintage Japan Stratocaster Model
This is a 1978 Greco SE600
Sparkle Sound
, one of the higher-end models in the Greco lineup of the era.
According to catalog specs, the body wood was either solid Sen (Japanese ash) or Alder - this particular example appears to be made of Alder. The neck is a one-piece maple with a large headstock design.
It comes equipped with Greco
Excel
single-coil pickups, producing a clear and articulate sound.
The weight is approximately

There are some small age-related scratches on the body, but no major or noticeable damage. The clear coating on the fingerboard has flaked off in places, though this does not affect playability.
The neck is straight, with about 60% of the frets remaining, and there are no dead spots or buzzing issues.
As one of Greco's higher-grade models from the late 1970s, the SE600 stands apart from the lower-end models in terms of craftsmanship and quality. A great piece of Japan Vintage history.
