Yamaha SA2100 – Rare 1989–1991 Catalog Model – Vintage Japan
This is the highly sought-after SA2100, a rare model that was listed only in Yamaha catalogs from 1989 to 1991. Even among the traditional Yamaha SA series, production numbers were low, and it is very difficult to find on the used market today.
The arched beech + birch top, combined with a center-block alder body, delivers an outstanding tonal balance—from warm and resonant mids with a lively acoustic character to bright, cutting highs. The guitar features a mahogany set neck with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard (350R radius).
Equipped with SAH-SA1G Alnico V pickups, this model was designed for a fatter and warmer sound. These high-performance pickups can express everything from rich, acoustic-like mids to sparkling highs and natural sustain. In addition, both pickups feature Yamaha’s bi-sound system, allowing for an even wider range of tonal variations.
