This is an extremely rare Fender Japan ST62M ’62 Reissue Stratocaster, manufactured in 1993–1994.

The ST62M is a medium-scale Stratocaster, designed specifically by Fender Japan for players who found standard long-scale Stratocasters too large.
Among ST62M models, this example is especially rare due to its Shell Pink finish, a color not listed in Fender Japan catalogs at the time.

This is a pre-catalog N-serial model, produced before the ST62M was officially listed in 1996.
It is rarely seen on the market and is considered one of the most elusive Fender Japan Stratocaster variations.

Model Background

Standard Fender Stratocasters are long-scale instruments originally designed around Western body size and hand dimensions.
To address this, Fender Japan developed the ST62M, featuring:

• Medium scale (628 mm)

• Slightly downsized body

• Slim 40 mm nut width

Despite the reduced size, the guitar faithfully retains the look and specifications of a 1962 Stratocaster, resulting in a true vintage-style instrument with superior playability.

The Shell Pink finish further enhances its vintage character, giving it exceptional visual appeal.
