Tokai Love Rock LSJ80 – Made in Japan 2011, Cherry Red
Tokai has been crafting beautiful instruments for decades, and their Love Rock (G-style) guitars easily rank among the finest Les Paul-style models ever produced.
This LSJ80, built in 2011 at Tokai’s Japan headquarters, is a later production model but still made with the same exceptional craftsmanship, attention to detail, and unmistakable Tokai tone.
The woodworking is outstanding — a two-piece center-joined mahogany body with a semi-transparent cherry red finish that showcases the beautiful ribbon grain underneath.
It’s lightweight, perfectly balanced, and acoustically resonant; every note rings out clearly with great response and articulation.
The hardware is solid and keeps tuning stability very well.
When played through a driven amp, this guitar delivers a rich, rounded tone with depth and clarity — ideal for both chords and lead work.
It strikes the perfect balance between warmth and brightness, offering articulate attack without harshness.
Clean tones are equally impressive; rolling back the tone knob gives you sweet, smooth, vintage-style cleans.
This model has long been discontinued and is now very hard to find, especially in such fine condition.
