Mid-to-Late 1970s Guyatone Custom Precision Bass Type (EP Series) - Made in Japan

This is a vintage Guyatone Custom Precision Bass type, built in Japan in the mid-to-late 1970s. Guyatone is one of Japan's oldest electric instrument makers, founded in Tokyo in 1933. This bass comes from the era when Japanese makers were building Fender-style instruments for both the domestic and export markets.

The headstock carries the Guyatone script logo, a "CUSTOM" decal and the marking "CUSTOM MADE NO 1975101". This number appears on many Guyatone Custom instruments of the period, so it is not a unique serial number. Guyatone catalogs from 1976 and 1977 list EP Series precision-style basses (EP-40 / EP-30, and EP-20 in 1977). The exact model number of this example has not been confirmed. This bass is sold AS-IS because of the neck condition described below. Please read the condition section carefully.
