1978-1979 Yamaha SA700 "Super Axe" Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar - Natural, Made in Japan

The Yamaha SA700 is widely regarded as one of the finest Japanese takes on the ES-335 format, built in-house by Nippon Gakki during the golden age of Japanese guitar manufacturing. This example wears the aged Natural finish, a noticeably less common choice than the Persimmon Red.

Produced from late 1977 through 1983, the SA700 pairs a bound laminated beech/birch body with a mahogany centre block and a one-piece mahogany set neck. Rather than a straight copy, Yamaha applied its own engineering and woodworking standards throughout, and these instruments have earned a strong following among vintage MIJ collectors and players alike. The serial number 003529 places this example in the 1978-1979 production window.

== WHY THIS GUITAR ==
Vintage Yamaha SA models are increasingly sought after by players who want genuine 1970s Japanese build quality in a 335-style semi-hollow, and the Natural finish examples turn up far less often than the red ones. With a straight neck, healthy fret life, honest vintage patina and a weight of 4.05 kg, this is a player-grade instrument that also carries real Japan Vintage collector appeal. A hard case is included so it is ready to go straight into use.
