1983-1984 Squier by Fender SQ Contemporary Series Stratocaster HH - Candy Apple Red, MIJ Fujigen

A genuine slice of early-1980s Japanese craftsmanship from the legendary "SQ" 
era - the second wave of Squier production that followed the famous JV series 
and was built at the same Fujigen Gakki plant in Nagano. These early MIJ 
Squiers earned a reputation among collectors and players alike for build 
quality that often rivaled, and at times exceeded, the U.S.-made instruments 
of the same period.

This particular example is the Contemporary Series HH model - the "Superstrat" 
configuration designed for the rock and metal players of the mid-80s. The 
twin humbucker layout, full Candy Apple Red finish with matching painted 
headstock, and large 70s-style headstock shape make it a stand-out from the 
more common JV reissues. Production ran for only two years (1983-1984) under 
the SQ serial scheme, making clean examples increasingly difficult to find.

when Japanese builders were producing some of the finest Fender-licensed

encountered configurations from the run. A solid choice for the player or
