1966-1967 Yamaha SG-2 - Nippon Gakki Era Offset Electric Guitar, Made in Japan
The SG-2 belongs to the very first generation of Yamaha solid body electric guitars, built in-house by Nippon Gakki. It is an offset design with a roller bridge and a floating vibrato, and it wears the early gold script "Yamaha / NIPPON GAKKI CO., LTD." headstock logo together with the die-cast tuning fork emblem.
Introduced in 1966 and replaced by the SG-2A in November 1967, the SG-2 had a short production run, which makes clean, complete examples increasingly difficult to find on the market. This one is the two-pickup version, finished in Sunburst, and it still has its vibrato arm - a part that is very often missing on guitars of this era.

== WHY THIS GUITAR ==
This is a genuine piece of Japanese guitar history: one of the very first electric guitars Yamaha ever built, from the Nippon Gakki era. The short production window, the offset body with its extended upper horn, and the die-cast tuning fork headstock emblem give it a character that later Yamaha models never repeated. With honest playwear, a straight neck and working electronics, it is a player-grade instrument that also carries real collector interest.
