1991 Epiphone Casino "Orange Label" - Pre-Elitist Hollowbody, MIJ Terada
A genuine Japanese-market Epiphone Casino built in 1991, from the era collectors know as the "Orange Label" or Pre-Elitist period. These were produced at the Terada factory in Japan - the same workshop that would later build the Elitist line - and are widely regarded as the most faithful Casino reissues of their time.
The orange oval label visible through the F hole reads "Model CASINO VINTAGE" with the serial number 15479. Terada production used a five-digit serial in which the first digit indicates the year (1 for 1991), the second digit identifies the Casino model, and the final three digits are the production number. Japanese-market examples from this run are increasingly hard to find outside Japan, and this one comes complete with its original Epiphone hard case.

The Casino is one of the essential rock and roll hollowbodies, and the Terada-built Japanese examples occupy a sweet spot in the model's history: vintage-style appointments, a slender fast neck, and P-90s with real midrange bark, all at a weight of just 2.85 kg. Because these were made primarily for the Japanese domestic market, they surface far less often abroad than the later Korean, Chinese or Elitist versions. With honest playwear, a straight neck and its original hard case, this is a player's piece that also carries genuine collector interest.
