2023 Epiphone 1958 Korina Explorer "Inspired by Gibson Custom" - Aged Natural, White Pickguard
A clean, lightly handled example of Epiphone's limited-release recreation of the 1958 Explorer, developed in partnership with the Gibson Custom Shop. This is the upper-tier version of the Explorer platform: solid Korina body and Korina neck, a long neck tenon, a 1958 Explorer neck profile, and genuine Gibson USA electronics rather than the standard Epiphone appointments.
The original 1958 Korina Explorer is one of the rarest and most valuable production electrics ever built, and this model brings those construction details - the wood, the joint, the profile, the gold hardware - into an instrument that can actually be played every day. At 3.25 kg this particular guitar is on the light side, and the semi-gloss Aged Natural finish shows the Korina grain clearly across the body.

This was a limited release, and the combination of a solid Korina body, a long-tenon Korina neck and a genuine Gibson Burstbucker 2/3 set is not something found on a standard Explorer at this level. The light 3.25 kg weight makes it far more comfortable than the mahogany Explorers most players have tried, and the CTS/Mallory wiring gives it a usable, vintage-voiced taper rather than a generic one. For a player who wants the 1958 shape with correct materials and hardware - or a collector who wants a clean, cased example of the Epiphone x Gibson Custom collaboration - this is a very complete package.
