A Japanese-built Tokai Silver Star from the mid-1980s, featuring the large 1970s-style headstock, a one-piece maple neck with skunk stripe, and a 3-bolt neck joint with micro-tilt adjustment. The Silver Star line was Tokai's take on the 1970s-era single-coil guitar, made in Japan alongside the company's better-known Springy Sound models.
The serial number 5028515 is stamped on the tremolo cover plate. In Tokai's 7-digit serial sequence this falls in 1985, and nearby serial numbers are documented on 1985 Silver Star guitars. Because no model number is marked on the guitar, it is listed as a Silver Star without a specific grade.
